Hand applied applications typically come in widths between 1/2" to 1/4" and with tensile strengths between 300 pounds and 700 pounds. It is typically embossed.
Machine grade for semi and fully automatic applications comes in many widths including 5mm, 6mm, 7mm, 1/4", 3/8", 7/16", and 1/2", and in tensile strengths ranging from 130 pounds to 750 pounds. It can be smoothed or embossed, depending on your needs.
If you have light to medium strapping applications, then polypropylene is likely the ideal choice. It is well suited for carton closing, bundling, unitizing, and palletizing. It is also available in both hand and machine grades, in a variety of widths, core sizes, and colors.
Polyester strapping may be the choice for you if you need strapping with a high break point. It's not affected by weather, it's safer than steel, and it's easy to recycle. It's resistant to elongation and can withstand a great amount of shock during shipping. It's quickly becoming the standard for shipping and unitizing.
Cord strapping is manufactured out of super strong polyester and is suitable for light to heavy duty applications. It's often used for tying, buckle joints, and tensioning packaging.
